Unhappy bank client charged with uttering threats

The man was asked to leave the bank after causing a disturbance, then called the bank to make threats; Bank was closed until male was in custody

On Wednesday March 10, 2021, at 4 p.m., Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police officers were dispatched to a financial institution on Muskoka Road 118 West in Bracebridge.

A client of the bank was asked to leave the premises after causing a disturbance. The client then left the location and made a telephone call indicating he would return and proceeded to utter threats. There were no immediate concerns for public safety and the doors remained locked until the male was in custody.

Police have charged 40-year-old Jeremy Lengyel of Bracebridge with:

  • Causing a disturbance CC 175(1) (a)
  • Uttering threats cause death or bodily harm CC 264.1(1) (a)

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 13, 2021 to answer to their charges.
