Police are investigating after a dog was abandoned in a Keswick park Sunday.
At 8:15 a.m., police were called to the Georgina Leash Free Dog Park on Lake Drive South, near Robert Street, where what appeared to be a Cane Corso was found tied to a pole.
The dog did not appear to be in distress and did not have any visible injuries, York Regional Police said in a news release. The dog is now in the care of the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre, but it is not yet ready for adoption.
Video footage shows a black pickup truck arrive at the park. A suspect walked the dog to an area and tied it to a pole before returning to the truck and leaving. The vehicle was last seen southbound on Lake Drive South.
The truck had a quad cab, a black roof rack that extended to the rear of the vehicle, and dark rims.
