Police are looking for two suspects after two houses under construction in King Township were set on fire Saturday.
At about 6:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to a new-build residential area near 15th Sideroad and Charles Baker Drive and found two homes engulfed in flames, according to a York Regional Police news release. They were under construction and unoccupied at the time. No one was injured.
Video shows the suspects arriving in a newer model grey Dodge Durango. They exit the vehicle, grab jerry cans from the trunk, approach the houses and set them on fire before fleeing eastbound on Bud Willmot Way, police said.
The suspects, both males, were wearing all black clothing and black face masks. One man was carrying a yellow jerry can, and the other one a red jerry can.
The suspect vehicle is a matte grey, 2021 to 2024 Dodge Durango, possibly an SRT model. It is a four-door sport utility vehicle with black alloy rims, a hood air-intake vent and a sunroof.
Police believe the incident was targeted.
