An Orillia woman suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Uhthoff Line Sunday night.
Thankfully, however, a child, who was secured in a child-safety seat, was not injured, say Orillia OPP. The child was the only other occupant in the vehicle.
Witnesses say the SUV the woman was driving went off the road, into the bushes at the side of the road, and crashed into a tree on Uhthoff Line, between Thorburn Road and Warminster Side Road, at about 7:30 p.m.
The female driver was trapped in the vehicle. She was extricated and subsequently airlifted to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries, say Orillia OPP.
No other vehicles were involved in this incident. The investigation is continuing.
