A woman has been charged after allegedly trying to enter a residence in Orillia early Saturday morning.

At about 1:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious person trying to enter a Clinton Street home through a rear door. The suspect fled on foot before police arrived and was found soon after at a business on Memorial Avenue, Orillia OPP said in a news release.

Police determined she was wanted on two outstanding warrants for theft-related charges.

Marcia Lasalle, 44, of Orillia, has been charged with trespassing at night and obstructing a peace officer. She was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
