A York Regional Police officer has been charged with multiple offences following an investigation by the York Regional Police Professional Standards Bureau.
Const. Guangnan (Garry) Sun was arrested and charged with: unauthorized use of computer x23; breach of trust by public officer x2; and obstructing justice, according to a York Regional Police news release.
Sun has been released from custody with conditions and his first court appearance date is set for Feb. 18, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket.
The officer, who began working with York Regional Police in August 2022, has served in 5 District of Markham and recently at the Community Resource Centre at 10720 Yonge St. in Richmond Hill.
