Today I discovered that Amazon Canada is selling “Canada 51st” merchandise. I find this offensive.

I believe it is crucial for our community to be aware of this issue and to join me in voicing our concerns. By raising awareness through local newspapers and media outlets, we can collectively call for the removal of such harmful products and ensure that our national pride is respected.

I hope that by bringing attention to this issue, we can prompt Amazon Canada to take the necessary steps to address our concerns and uphold the values of respect and inclusivity.

The following was sent to Amazon Canada:

Dear Amazon Canada customer service,

I am writing to express my strong disapproval of the “Canada 51st state” merchandise being sold on your platform, including hats, T-shirts, and flags, which are available on Amazon.ca. As a proud Canadian, I find this merchandise highly offensive and disrespectful to my country and its sovereignty.

I urge you to take immediate action to remove any anti-Canada merchandise from your website. This type of product not only undermines Canadian pride but also promotes a negative and misleading narrative about our nation.

As a longtime customer, I value the diverse range of products available on Amazon. However, I believe it is essential for Amazon to consider the cultural and national sentiments of its customer base. Allowing such merchandise to be sold on your platform is deeply concerning and counterproductive to fostering a respectful and inclusive marketplace.

In light of this, I have decided to close my Amazon accounts and will be encouraging my friends, family, and colleagues to do the same until this issue is addressed. Additionally, I will be sharing my concerns with local newspapers and media outlets to raise awareness of this matter.

I hope that Amazon Canada will take this complaint seriously and act swiftly to remove any offensive merchandise. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to seeing a positive resolution.
