The following letter is in response to the province’s plan to introduce legislation to dismantle homeless encampments.

The haves have too much. The have-nots have too little. Honest working people cannot afford housing. More and more are ending up on the street. Now, thanks to leadership like that of Doug Ford, they cannot even live on the street.

Far too many people are suffering because prices have been allowed to far outstrip wages. Corporate greed has usurped compassion. People are being forced onto the street. And now they are being forced off the streets as well by the very people who put them there.

This is not what Canada is about. Nor should it be.
