Details are scant but both sides of Highway 11, just south of Orillia, have been shut down due to a police investigation.
Police, fire and paramedics were called to the busy stretch of highway between Line 13 and Line 14 after a report that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
As of 9:30 p.m., north-bound traffic was being directed to leave the highway at Line 13. South-bound traffic also became snarled by the incident and now, no vehicles are getting through.
It's unclear how long the highway might be closed and no details are known about what happened.
We'll update the situation when more information becomes available.
