Calls from public land driver in hot water, facing multiple charges

The driver was making 'unsafe manoeuvres' in residential areas and was charged with impaired, dangerous driving, assaulting peace officer, theft and mischief

Public complaints led police to charging a driver from the Ottawa area.

On Friday evening around 8:45 p.m., Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police received several calls regarding a vehicle in Bracebridge making "unsafe manoeuvres" in residential areas.

Officers responded and stopped the vehicle.

As a result, Marc-Andre Ouellette, 22, of Orleans has been charged with:

  • operation while impaired by alcohol/drug CC 320.14(1)(a)
  • dangerous operation CC 320.13(1)
  • mischief - destroys or damages property CC 430(1)(a)
  • theft under $5,000 CC 334(b)
  • assault a peace officer CC 270(1)(a)

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
