City police are warning drivers to always clear snow from their vehicles after ice from a transport truck struck a motorist in southwest Barrie this morning.

Police said the incident occurred Feb. 21 on Townline Road (County Road 27), between Mapleview Drive West and Dunlop Street.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have dash-cam footage, or took note of the name on the suspected truck, to call police at 705-725-7025.

Police are also reminding motorists to always clear their vehicles of snow and ice, and to be cautious of tractor-trailers which may have snow and ice on their trailers.

“With milder weather and sunshine, accumulated ice can be dislodged and become dangerously airborne,” police stated in a release.
