A 51-year-old Penetanguishene man faces an impaired driving charge stemming from a dispute Wednesday afternoon.

At around 5:15 p.m., Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers responded to a dispute at a residence on Lepage Drive in Penetanguishene.

While attempting to resolve the matter, officers learned that one of the involved parties left the area in a vehicle and was believed to be impaired, police said.

Officers located the driver at a residence on Champlain Road and noted signs of impairment. The individual was placed under arrest and transported to detachment for further tests, police added in a release.

As a result of the investigation, Chad Mathieson faces a charge of impaired operation-alcohol and drugs.

The accused was released from custody and will appear in Midland Court Dec. 12.
