Five people facing charges after drug bust in Rama: police

Officers seized 31 grams of cocaine/crack cocaine, a quantity of cash and weapons during the Sunday afternoon bust

Five people are facing charges after a drug bust in Rama First Nation.

On Sunday, Dec. 1 at around noon, the Rama Police Service executed a search warrant at a home in Rama and arrested six people within the home. Officers seized 31 grams of cocaine/crack cocaine, cash and weapons during the incident.

According to a social media post, Rama Police arrested a female with possession of cocaine.

One female and two males were also each charged with possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

One male was charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon, failure to comply with a release order, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime (under $5,000), possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

One male was subsequently released unconditionally from custody.

No names or other details were released by Rama Police.
