Man facing impaired charges after being stopped on Old Barrie Road

Members of the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a driver for impaired driving in the City of Orillia.

On Aug. 14, 2021, shortly after 5 a.m., officers conducted an impaired driving investigation after a motor vehicle stop on Old Barrie Road East, City of Orillia. The male driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, Kyle Courtin, age 38 of Mississauga, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) 

The accused was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is set to appear on Sept. 14, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
