It appears multiple people were stabbed and an OPP vehicle was set ablaze in what was a "chaotic" scene outside a Mississaga Street West home Friday night.
While the Orillia OPP has not yet provided any details publicly, social media was ablaze with details about the wild goings-on.
According to witnesses on the scene, emergency officials were called to the home for a stabbing at about 10:15 p.m.
It is believed multiple people suffered stab wounds. There has been no word on the condition of the victims, but there were several ambulances on the scene and it appears more than one person was taken to Orillia's Soldiers' Memorial Hospital.
While that was going on, an OPP cruiser had a mechanical failure and erupted in flames.
"When the fire crew arrived, they found a vehicle fully involved," said Orillia Deputy Fire Chief Chris Ferry. "The fire crew extinguished the fire. (There were) no injuries to firefighters."
Witnesses described a "chaotic" scene.
"It was a chaotic scene, even after the fire was out," said one witness at the scene, which was east of Westmount Drive and across from Hammond Drive, just up the street from Oak Terrace, a long-term care home.
As of this morning, the OPP were not able to provide any information about this incident. We'll update this story when more information becomes available.
