One seriously injured in fire at county hub on West Street

West Street North, after being closed for hours, was reopened at about 7:30 p.m., officials say

Officials are investigating an apartment fire at the County of Simcoe hub building Sunday afternoon that sent one person to hospital.

Ontario Provincial Police say first responders were called to West Street North between Borland Street and Jarvis Street at 4:08 p.m.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, but OPP say one person was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

West Street North was reopened at about 7:30 p.m.
