Tuesday’s crash in south-end Barrie, which saw a car leave the road and strike two parked vehicles, has led to charges for an Oro-Medonte man.
City police received a call just after 4:30 p.m., Aug. 15, about a collision on Marsellus Drive, near Churchland Drive.
A 41-year-old Oro-Medonte man has been charged with making an unsafe turn, which police say caused one vehicle to leave the road.
Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon said that while there were no serious injuries, the aftermath at the crash scene made it appear worse than it was.
“There was a lot of damage to vehicles, but no major injuries," he said. "It was initially a two-vehicle collision, but once one of the vehicles left the roadway, it then struck two parked vehicles."
Two people were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
This also marks the second incident this week where a vehicle has left the roadway and caused significant damage in south-end Barrie.
On Monday, Aug. 14, a vehicle slammed into a home on Logan Court shortly before noon. The driver in that incident has been charged with careless driving and driving while under suspension. There were no injuries.
Logan Court is located near Mapleview Drive West and County Road 27.
