Members of the Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police responded to a theft call in Gravenhurst after a male was seen forcing his way into a secure medical storage room at a local community care facility.
The 29-year-old male is a resident of the facility and suffers from a severe drug addiction. A futile attempt to stash the stolen drugs was thwarted when police simply followed his footprints in the snow to uncover the hidden medication. Currently facing charges for similar behaviour, the male has been arrested and held for a bail hearing.
The medication was recovered and returned to the proper authorities within the facility.
