NEWS RELEASE
RAMA POLICE SERVICE
*************************
The Rama Police Service is honoured to join other police services across Canada in hosting a Tree of Hope to bring awareness and remembrance to missing and murdered Indigenous women.

This is an initiative calling for awareness and action in regards to the disproportionate numbers of missing and murdered Indigenous women in Canada in comparison to the national average.

The Rama Police Service in partnership with other police services are coming together to show support for accountability and justice, and to help instill hope that women and men can come forward with strength and courage to aid in the protection of our vulnerable people within our communities.

The Rama Police Service will be lighting a tree adorned with 1,200 red lights to signify the 1,200 missing and murdered Indigenous women across Canada.

Everyone is welcome to join us on Sunday (Nov. 14) 5 p.m. at the Rama Police Service office at 7450 Williams Rd. in Rama First Nation in support of this initiative and the lighting of the tree.
