Oops! Driver crashes Toyota through front window of Dalt’s Honda

Staff members and customers inside the dealership were startled by the sudden crash, but no one was in the immediate area of impact, says employee

A routine visit to an Orillia car dealership took a dramatic turn just before the lunch hour Monday when a driver accidentally crashed their Toyota SUV through the front window of Dalt’s Honda on Memorial Avenue.

According to a front desk employee who spoke with OrilliaMatters, the driver mistakenly put the vehicle in drive instead of reverse and, in a panic, pressed down on the gas pedal.

The SUV surged forward, shattering the glass and coming to a stop just inside the dealership. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

Staff members and customers inside the dealership were startled by the sudden crash, but no one was in the immediate area of impact.

A tow truck was en route this afternoon to remove the vehicle from the dealership. Staff at Dalt’s Honda are now assessing the damage and beginning the cleanup process.
